Description
This is for an original vintage Jimmy Gleeson endorsed split finger buckleback fielders glove made by Banner. The inside of the glove is stamped genuine horsehide and the mitt is about as soft and supple as the day it was brought home sometime in the mid to late 1930’s. Gleesons playing career would begin in 1933 in class C baseball in the MidAtlantic League and end up in Muskegon in the Central League in 1951 with stops along the way with the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds between 1936 and 1942. Hard to believe that a ball player such as Jimmy Gleeson would find his way to be an endorser of a professional quality fielders glove and having his name stamped on one. To be truthful, when I purchased the glove in the 1980s I actually thought that the glove had to have been his own personal model he used when he played professional ball because why else would a Jimmy Gleeson model glove be sold to the public? I doubt you could ever find another.Check out the scans and email with any questions.
