This driver is designed to work with many "separate" standard type & style horns, they type that you screw the driver on the back of the horn. Look closely at the pictures before you purchase. Be aware that the horn portion is
"not"
included
with the driver. This tweeter driver is just as shown with the included photo. You need to thread it onto a separate horn lens. We may have horn lenses available separately. Please inquire if you are looking for a horn as well.

Overview:
Great sounding, inexpensive bullet piezo type horn tweeter that fits a standard type horn with 1-3/8" (1.375") 18TPI throat. Sometimes this can be referred to as a 1.4 driver. Great option for replacing your old Motorola piezo driver. The Motorola piezo tweeters are no longer manufactured. Same type of design and quality. Do some research about the best way to wire a piezo tweeter. The use of a fixed resistor inline will help stabilize the load against your amp and the use of a crossover will further protect your piezo and possibly smooth out your speakers response. Look at the specs below including dimensions to determine if this is a good choice for your project. Various size horns are available separately. Contact me with any questions.

Is this a direct replacement for a Motorola 334 driver?
Answer:
Motorola invented the piezo speaker in the 70's. Since then the technology has improved beyond their original patent. While the only true direct replacement is the OEM, The piezo bullet is as close to the OEM as you will come.
Piezo typically do not require a crossover because the speakers impedance increases as frequency decreases. The characteristic of the bullet is to be very tight in projection in the upper midrange frequencies and open up allot at higher tweeter frequencies. The OEM may have different dispersion characteristics so if you are only replacing one of a pair of speakers they may yield a slight difference in sound character. It would be my advise to replace both if you are working with a pair of speakers.

Answer: It appears as a 0.3uF capacitor to your system

Is a crossover required?
Answer:
No.
The piezo element requires no additional crossover, however, a 20 ohm, 20 ωatt resistor should be used In series when adding an L-Pad control for best results.
