KIRIN ICHIBAN SPECIAL PREMIUM RESERVE SUMO WRESTLER beer tap handle. Japan. Kirin's Prime Brew. Since 1888. Ichiban came around 1988. The Sumo Wrestler on top of a giant beer bottle neck and cap. Super cool. Fat bastards. Did you know that Sumos are forbidden to drive a car? True fact. Not that they could fit behind the wheel, Lol. Tap has been used but not abused. It has stood on a shelf in my collection for a very long time. It has some minor signs of wear but still looks great! Very collectible piece. Quite rare. 10 inches tall.
The Kirin depicted on the label is an ancient Chinese mythical creature that is the harbinger of good luck. Legend has it that when Confucius was born, a Kirin appeared before the eyes of his mother. Kirin Ichiban is the only beer produced using only the first press Wort using the Japanese shibori method producing the finest malt beer you can buy.
