JBL D140F All Original Vintage 1966 from Fender Single Showman  8 Ohm
I removed this from my 66 Single Showman cabinet before I sold the cabinet unloaded.  I bough the Showman (from the original owner) used in 1970 and just sold the cabinet last year.  I removed the speaker with the intention of putting it in a smaller lighter cabinet.  I have come to the realization that this dream will not happen so I may as well sell it to someone who will use it.
It is in totally original condition including the cone and voice coil.  The reason the red and black push tabs are missing is because the fellow I purchased it from was a stickler about anything being (or becoming) loose so he soldered the wires and taped them to the magnet (hence the tape marks on the magnet).
If you are looking for a totally original JBL to put in your 66 single showman  (tone ring cabinet) this could be the one.  Though I played bass through it, I never abused it, so it sounds as good as the day I purchased it. This is the 8 ohm version (measuring 6.3ohms with a digital VOM)
I just received an email stating the following:

I own 12 1960’s D140F’s. I’m the original owner. The glue around the dust cover is a dead giveaway it’s been reconed. The factory glue job is perfect. JBL must have used a 4” gluing jig.*** I have used reconed D140’s, and they certainly had the same performance, maybe a little stiffer just because they were new.—> For what it’s worth, my broken in D140F’s have a resonance Hz of around 29Hz! (Determined using Woofer Tester”) That’s pretty low for a musical instrument speaker! The cone can travel 3/4th of an inch.The 60’s single showman cabinet was unique with its tone ring. Why did they use it? It effectively allowed the cabinet to perform like a much larger cabinet.
I had no idea that this speaker was ever re-coned,  when I purchased it in 1970 the original owner never told me so I assumed it was original.  All I can tell you is the re-cone was done before I purchased it in Oct of 1970.  Very sorry for any confusion.
